Review: The House of the Spirits

The House of the Spirits The House of the Spirits by Isabel Allende
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Loved Allende’s novel. I can’t believe it has taken me so long to read it. A chilling, haunting tale of the Trueba family in Chile before the revolution. It follows the often shocking decisions of the patriarch, a conservative Republican, and the caring and passionate females of his family. It ends with gut-wrenching, detailed account of the Chilean revolution and the atrocities committed by the military coup.
