Im a little torn on the rating here. I enjoyed the boom and read it all, but seriously struggled to get the same feelings as in book 1. The author doesn’t too much time trying to get me to ship Selwyn and Bree…Nick had so much charisma. It felt pointless to go without him. Also, I struggled with Nick refusing to return and letting Selwyn become a demon. I didn’t get that. OH and he killed Zhao, but supposedly just for himself? I didn’t get that either.

Then there is the idea that Arthur is this bad guy. THEN the treachery of the Shadow King. THEN she agrees to meet the shadow court…I don’t know. It lacked chemistry.
