Frost Like Night by
Sara Raasch
My rating:
4 of 5 stars
The ending made this one for me! 4 out of 5 stars! I was crying at the end – it was a really, really great ending for me.
(view spoiler)[ I still feel so sad about Theron’s end. I didn’t actually want him to die – I am SO glad that he didn’t. And I did see his conduit as the solution from the beginning – I was getting SO mad at Mather for not realizing that…BUT I did want a little more happiness for him. I get that he did succumb to Angra, but so did a lot of people. I mean, imagine what Ceridwen would have become! I just wanted so much more for him. Maybe if I saw Shazi running to him also or saw Autumn with him. I just needed to see someone in his ‘court’.
I think that Mather and Meira together were endgame. And I was really sad about Finn. I felt that wasn’t necessary. I also cried at the end for poor Mather getting Meira back. He deserved it, but I don’t know that I was fully happy about the end with Sir/William. You know, it would be interesting to have a prequel series. Kind of the way that Mary Pearson did hers. (hide spoiler)]Anyways, in the end I did like this series! Characterization and buy-in for all of Raasch’s characters was top notch.
