Review: Lore by Alexandra Bracken

My rating: 3 of 5 stars
There were a couple things I DID like about this novel. The background of the Agon and the Greek mythology- the information on Hermes, Gil, and Miles. Some of the sweet moments with Castor…
But mostly I’m struggling with the lack of full character development. I think there were too many characters for bracken to fully develop- even Castor’s love for Lore felt weird. Almost forced. There just wasn’t enough of that initial chemistry. Like why he would leave her alone with Athena, or his inability to actually take a form after the Agon.
Also, the constant betrayals were grating on my nerves. I mean, Iro, really? In what world would Lore and Castor forgive her that easily? Or even Van? Even Athena at the end?! I mean, there is no way she could forgive what she did. So, ultimately, I’d give it closer to a 3.5/5.
